What's the difference between HPL and LPL surfaces?
HPL (high-pressure laminate)
This is the more "heavy-duty" option. It's heat-pressed for maximum durability, making it great for high-traffic areas like desk worksurfaces, reception counters, etc.
LPL (low-pressure laminate)
More affordable and suited for surfaces that don’t get daily wear or use. It's great for low-traffic applications like accessory tables, cabinets, or side panels.
Is there a cost-difference between HPL and LPL?
Yes. HPL costs more because it is stronger and more durable.
LPL is budget-friendly for less demanding surfaces.
What's the best way to clean a laminate table?
Just a damp cloth and mild soap will do.
Skip the harsh chemicals or scrubbing pads to keep the surface looking fresh.
Are laminate surfaces heat resistant?
Yes, and HPL can handle more heat than LPL, but you should still use a coaster or pad—just to be safe.
How does laminate compare to veneer or solid wood?
Laminate is tougher. It resists scratches and moisture better than solid wood or wood veneer.
Modern laminates also look great—some mimic wood so well, you'd barely notice.
